The Central drug regulatory authority of the country has identified over 50 drug samples, including paracetamol, Pan D, calcium and vitamin D3 supplements, as well as anti-diabetes medications, as being “not of standard quality” in its most recent report.
The batches of these medicines, highlighted by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) in its August drug alert, originate from companies such as Alkem Laboratories, Hindustan Antibiotics Limited, Hetero Labs Limited, Karnataka Antibiotics and Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Nestor Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Priya Pharmaceuticals, and Scott-Edil Pharmacia Ltd.
