Jairam Ramesh asserted that Prime Minister Modi absolved China of responsibility merely four days following the deaths of 20 Indian soldiers who were engaged in defending against Chinese aggression.
Following the announcement by the Ministry of External Affairs regarding an agreement with China in eastern Ladakh, the Congress party on Wednesday characterized the prolonged standoff between the two nations, lasting over four years, as a “total indictment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s credulity and innocence.” The opposition party presented six pointed inquiries to the BJP-led government concerning India’s ceasefire with China in eastern Ladakh, expressing hope that New Delhi’s “most significant foreign policy failure in decades is being resolved with dignity.”
Numerous inquiries persist regarding the announcement made by the Modi administration concerning an agreement with China on patrolling protocols along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The Foreign Secretary has indicated that this development is “leading to disengagement and ultimately a resolution of the issues that emerged in these regions in 2020,” as stated by Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh in a written statement.
“We remain hopeful that what has been India’s most significant foreign policy setback in decades is being resolved in a dignified manner. We anticipate that the disengagement will restore the status quo ante as it was in March 2020,” he further remarked.
