The Karnataka High Court has granted interim bail to Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeep Srinivas for medical reasons, enabling him to proceed with necessary spine surgery. Darshan has been detained as a suspect in the Renukaswamy murder case. Justice S. Vishwajith Shetty, sitting on a single judge bench, reserved the order after considering the arguments from both sides. During the hearing, the court advised the petitioner to seek a second opinion from doctors at a government hospital in Bengaluru instead of obtaining a report from a private institution. The actor is not obligated to be admitted exclusively to a Mysore hospital, as he had requested.
