In a tragic event, a woman in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, leaped from the fourth floor of the GIP Mall on Wednesday, resulting in her death. She had visited the mall located in the Police Station Sector 39 area that evening.
Authorities have identified the deceased as Akanksha Sood, who was reportedly suffering from depression related to ongoing divorce proceedings, which may have contributed to her decision, according to police statements.
Following the incident, she was taken to a hospital in critical condition, where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries. Akanksha was married in 2017 and had been experiencing ongoing disputes with her husband, having even left her mobile phone at home. Ram Badan Singh, DCP of Noida, stated, as reported by ANI, “After 9:30 pm yesterday, a woman accessed the building via the fire exit stairs and reached the fourth floor. She then jumped, resulting in her death by suicide. Her name is Akanksha, and her family has been notified. Her brother and sister-in-law mentioned that she married in 2017 but only resided with her husband for 15 days. Since then, divorce proceedings have been underway, and she had been suffering from depression.”
