A bombing attributed to Pakistani separatists resulted in the deaths of 25 individuals, among whom were 14 Army personnel, at a railway station in Quetta, located in Balochistan province, on Saturday, November 9. The explosion occurred while passengers were waiting on the platform of the main railway station in the provincial capital.
Muhammad Baloch, a senior police official, reported that fourteen members of the military are included among the 25 confirmed fatalities, which updates the previous count of 22 provided by local authorities, as stated to the news agency AFP. At the time of the explosion, a train was poised to depart for Peshawar, according to Reuters. Quetta’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations, Mohammad Baloch, indicated that the incident “appears to be a suicide blast,” although he cautioned that it is premature to draw definitive conclusions, emphasizing that an investigation is currently in progress to determine the nature of the explosion.
