External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar stated on Sunday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was one of the initial three global leaders to receive a call from US President-elect Donald Trump. He further emphasized that India has established a well-defined relationship with the United States. “To be candid, many nations around the globe are apprehensive regarding the US. However, India does not share this sentiment,” the minister remarked during the Aditya Birla 25th Silver Jubilee Scholarship Programme event in Mumbai.
When inquired about the implications of the Trump presidency for India, Jaishankar remarked, “The Prime Minister was one of the first three leaders to receive a call from President Trump. PM Modi has established a strong rapport with several US Presidents. Upon his initial visit to Washington, Barack Obama was in office, followed by President Trump, and now President Biden. It is true that many nations are apprehensive regarding the current state of the US; however, we do not share that sentiment.” During their discussions, PM Modi and President Trump committed to collaborating for global peace.
